A really fun weekend. We hiked for one day carrying our kit through the wonderful Surrey hills to Bentley Copse where we stayed over. Some of the highlights of this particular camp were:
-Great views of the Surrey hills
-Sleeping in hammocks
-Chubby bunny challenge at the campfire in the evening
- Pioneering and making trebuchets in the morning  .... and much more.
This was a great camp which everyone gained skills from.

WATER ACTIVITIES DAY

MAY 2016

Description: D:\Users\Rob\Pictures\Scouts\Water Fun '16\P1030786.JPGDescription: D:\Users\Rob\Pictures\Scouts\Water Fun '16\P1030721.JPG

The day began with stand-up paddle boarding. Next we did raft building, I volunteered to try it and ended up wet and laughing! Then we tried open canoeing in pairs. Me and my partner were the fastest canoeing pair. Then we had kayaking challenges, before racing back to the start. The day ended with the cardboard boat racing. Mine sank when I sat in it but I really enjoyed the day, and I am looking forward to trying more water activities. Philip, Scout

CUB SKILLS CAMP

12th-13th March 2016

Report  by Cub Ollie O

It was a lovely sunny day and we all met in the car park with our rucksacks, we needed to have everything in them for camping at Bentley Copse.  We had to split into two different groups for our hike to the campsite, it was a long way and we had to work out where we were on the map and which way to go. When we got there we had to put up our tents, then we cooked our supper on special camping stoves, we had Chilli and rice with doritos, then for pudding we had swiss roll and custard.  Afterwards we had to wash up our dishes and cutlery.  We had to brush our teeth and then went to sleep in our tents , which we shared, it was very very cold brrrrrrrrrr.  When we got up in the morning we cooked bacon rolls, then we had to pack our rucksacks, take our tents down and hike back to the pick up point.  My favourite bit was sleeping in the tent with my friends and learning how to cook my own food and how to map read. It was exhausting but fun !

I had lots of fun at my Beaver sleepover. I liked the cross bow. I liked it when I made my Robin Hood hat and watched the Robin Hood movie. I went to sleep in my sleeping bag which was nice and comfy. The next day we played with our bows and arrows in the woods. I want to go again.                Report by: Beaver Scout: Aidan
